Good Communication for a Successful Business

Entrepreneurs must possess three essential skills to achieve the level of success that they deserve:

  1. business communication
  2. networking
  3. selling

In order for an entrepreneur to find, familiarize himself and deal with his target market and convince them to patronize his company’s products and services, good communication makes these things happen. Hence, it stays at top rank based on importance.

However, to be able to reach out to a wider audience whether nationwide or on a global perspective, communicating effectively using the vernacular or so-so English will never be enough. An above-average to excellent level in English fluency of an entrepreneur guarantees greater chances of making it big in his industry of preference, regardless if he’s just starting out or already with an existing enterprise.

In general, continuous improvement in terms of English speaking and writing skills required in the business world (whether self-taught or through formal training) provides benefits such as:

If English is an entrepreneur’s second language, some of the struggles or issues he will face in terms of communication skills are the uncertainty if his every message is clear to his clients, problems in pronunciation, grammar and accent, and difficulty in maintaining eye contact and displaying appropriate body language.

It is highly recommended to choose the right business English course based on rates, scope and schedule, or the right learning material that focuses on what real English is all about — the type that native English speakers can easily comprehend. In time, proper education in the English language would result to improved proficiency in:

    I do agree that every aspiring business people should consider the three essential skills which was stated on the first paragraph of the passage. One of which that the aspirants must improve and possess is the good business communication, because this plays a vital role and the most fundamental aspect of business. A good communication within or outside of your company, will be a big help in achieving the most important goal that everyone should focus on, which is SUCCESS.

    I agree that communication is essential in business both external and internal communication. An entrepreneur must be a good communicator because most of the time communication happen in English. You need to make yourself understood by the people around you, not only with the people you work with but also in dealing with clients/customers.

    I believe that the “three essential skills” are the key for success in business. But in order to achieve them, you must have confidence and most importantly practice. Without practice, you can do nothing. Keep in mind that “Practice makes perfect.”

    I do agree that communication is the main factor in every transaction most especially in business. Because when you’re selling something you have to say something beautiful or you have to sell your product in a verbal way.First and foremost you have to believe in your product before you do the selling, so that you can influence others to buy it.

    I believe that in every aspect for ensuring success in business i.e. business communication, networking and selling, everything essentially boils down to effective communication – knowing what to say and saying it well. In “what to say”, we take into consideration the 2 Cs, clear and concise, while in “saying it well”, confidence and courteousness counts, the next 2Cs.

    Even networking and selling requires so. I can see that a good networker and a good seller is one who can talk his way using good communication skills to convince people to use or consume his products and eventually follow him in the same line of business. Even in traditional businesses communication is an important tool; from business letters, meeting and talking to clients, business proposal presentations to advertising materials; professional business communication is the key.

    In the service provider business, where I believe government agencies belong, and for that matter, a local government unit where I am connected, good and effective communication is also necessary even in the vernacular; from information dissemination on the services provided by an office to providing training to constituents on how to help themselves; from writing requests to the national agencies for various assistance on projects and programs to sourcing private support for the upliftment of the economic condition of the community.

    Indeed, finding one good business English training provider, and good communication skills at that, is essential to achieve a company or an agency’s goal of ensuring success.

    Communication is the way of business. Every form of business needs effective communication in order to succeed, especially if you are venturing into selling and marketing a certain product.     It is really very important to aspiring entrepreneurs that they can speak and write English well.     Fluency in the English language is a must in facing prospect clients. We have to face it that in order to be able to achieve a much bigger success in the line of business, we need to communicate to a vast number of audience and some of them are fluent in English.     I agree on the statement that to be a successful entrepreneur one should also be an effective communicator. One of the effective ways to develop once communication skill is through continuous education both in speaking and writing skills.     Good communication is very essential in expressing thoughts between the speaker and the audience, This can also be done in written communications which is frequently used on e-mail and business letters intended for different purposes such as applications and the like. It is this particular action where we can assess partially, if not totally the convincing power of a certain speaker. We communicate to be understood and to a better approach to clients. However, our message interpreted based on our facial reactions and body language, the tone of our voice and the words we say.
